TLTR Meeting Minutes
October 15, 2009

I.                    Regular Business:

a.       Dr. Anning spoke about results of TLTR survey and discussed the most popular.  He also points out opportunities available that can directly relate to the points of interests.

b.      Brian Danielson then encouraged individuals to present or lead a discussion if they have experience or strategies to share that relate to the topics on the survey. 

                                                              i.       He also encouraged individuals to look at the BloackBoard 9.0 videos on the website.

                                                            ii.      Learning Management System (LMS) was also discussed and will be holding more discussions about in the Spring

                                                          iii.      There were no major BlackBoard Updates at this time – The system seems to be working fine.

II.                  New Business:  Information Technology presented by Simeon Ananou

a.       Simeon distributed an information sheet of all projects that were completed this past summer and also what is currently being done. Topics covered were classroom technology, server farm, telephone network, information security initiative, administrative computing and application support, student information system update, and disaster recovery.

b.      Current problems discussed were as follows: improved servers, replaced computers, help desk, and are now working on increasing the speed of the network.

c.       Simeon supplied TLTR with examples of what SIS will be able to do for faculty and students

d.      Gave an update on the programs of the new website. 

                                                              i.      Mentioned how share point will make it easier to update web site

                                                            ii.      Mentioned that there will be training

e.      Questions:

                                                              i.      A question was raised as to why SIS will take two years to implement?

1.       It’s not setting up that will take that long

2.       The problem lies in moving over the old records

                                                            ii.      Where will old web pages go?

1.       SparePoint can be set up to expire information
