2009 - 2010 Academic Year October 15, 2009 - Information Technology Regular Business: Dr. Anning spoke on the results of the latest TLTR survey in order to gain knowledge on the topics most important to TLTR members. Opportunities to obtain more information were also discussed. Presentation: Dr. Simeon Ananou devoted his time to presenting Information Technology to TLTR. He spoke on past and present projects completed by IATS. Topics discussed were classroom technology, server farm, telephone network, information security initiative, administrative computing and application support, student information system update, and disaster recovery. Simeon also discussed the University’s new website that will be launching in the future and how Share Point will make updating and managing sites much easier. New Business: Jason Stuart will be presenting at the held TLTR meeting on November 19, 2009 during Common Hour. He will be discussing the pros/cons of power point and also incorporating the student’s perspective. The meeting will be held in the CFIT Conference Room of Bailey Library.
September 17, 2009 - CETET and BlackBoard Updates Regular Business: Introductions were given by Dr. Jon Anning welcoming everyone back from the summer break. A survey was then distributed that allowed all TLTR members to voice their interests in several topics that can potentially be available for discussion throughout the academic year. This allowed TLTR to focus in on areas of specific interest to its members. Presentation: Dr. Danette Dimarco started the meeting to enlighten the individuals of TLTR on any changes and progress that has been made through CETET in conjunction with TLTR. Many topics were discussed such as teaching circles. Brian Danielson then took over and discussed that the BlackBoard contract will be ending at the end of June of 2010 and task forces will soon be created to determine interests and likes of different Learning Management Systems. Other topics were discussed such as creating a plan for emergency situations such as if H1N1 spread through campus, how would SRU handle the situation and ensure that professors can still adequately present their course information. New Business: Simeon Ananou will be presenting at the next meeting on October 15, 2009 during Common Hour. The meeting will be held in the Special Collections Room of Bailey Library.
