Praxis Information

All education majors must pass the Praxis exams.  Before admission to the College of Education the Praxis I: Pre-Professional Skills Tests in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics must be taken and passed.  The Praxis I exams are available through either a paper-based or computer-based format. Both formats cover the same content and measure the same academic skills.

Before certification the Praxis II (content area) exams must be completed and passed.  All Praxis II tests are paper-based tests.

More information on the Praxis exams is available at http://www.ets.org/praxis/ .  At the Praxis website you can register for the exam and view the testing requirements for each area of certification.

You can find a listing of tests required at the Pennsylvania Department of Education website and in the Career Services flyer listing Praxis Test Taking Guidelines.

Praxis exam dates are available at http://www.ets.org/praxis/prxdates.html . Praxis practice tests can be found at http://www.testprepreview.com/praxis_practice.htm
