Pine-Richland School District  Gibsonia, PA

 

Hance PDS

There are two main initiative taking place at Hance this year that demonstrates how important student learning is to this facility.  The first is "Minute Math," which is designed to improve computation skills in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing while considering the individual needs of every student.  The other deals with the improvement of writing skills in all areas of the curriculum using "Write Source" materials.  These are just two examples of the emphasis that Hance places on the ongoing academic development of its students.

 

 

Richland PDS

Richland Elementary prides itself on student-centered learning.  It offers opportunities for its students to grow academically as well as socially.  The teachers are dedicated to the continual improvement of student success and base their teaching methods on research.  The students at this school benefit from the positive learning community that is provided by its hard-working faculty and staff members.

 

 

Wexford PDS

Building a positive learning community is the main goal of Wexford Elementary.  This learning community is supported by dedicated teachers, hard-working administrators, and parent involvment.  Wexford is especially proud of the new Literacy Book Room, where the PTO donated books for guided reading group instruction in the classroom.  The teachers at Wexford are involved in a school-wide Action Research project, to promote professionalism and base their teaching methods on proven methods of instruction.

 

 

Pittsburgh Public Schools  Pittsburgh, PA

 

Grandview PDS

Grandview Elementary joined our PDS in the 2006-2007 school year.  It serves the Pittsburgh communities of Beltzhoover and Allentown.  This school is dedicated to providing the latest technological resources to its students and faculty, including Smart Boards, digital cameras and camcorders, and wireless Macintosh iBooks.  This school strives to create a positive learning environment that focuses on technology to better prepare its students for the future.

 

 

Philip Murrary PDS

During the 2006-2007 school year, Philip Murray became one of Pittsburgh Public School's Accelerated Learning Academies and provides education for students from Pre-K to Eighth Grade.  It serves the Pittsburgh communities of Carrick, Mt. Oliver, St. Clair Village, and Arlington.  This school strives to provide a secure, caring learning environment for all students to achieve their highest potential in a modern, aesthetically uplifing facility.

 

 

Sharon City Schools  Sharon, PA

 

Case Ave. PDS

The staff members at Case Avenue Elementary School are dedicated to providing educational, social, and economic opportunities to their students.  The teachers focus on providing the best learning opportunities to their students and highly value positive and inovative learning experiences and ideas.  This dedicated faculty holds high expectation for their students to ensure every child is working to his or her fullest potential.

 

 

C.M. Musser PDS

The faculty at C.M. Musser Elementary are dedicated to a progressive, child-centered philoshophy of education.  Their curriculum provides many learning opportunities to the students that focus on hands-on experiences and rich literature activities.  The teachers focus on the indivudal learning needs of their students and support them in all of their academic endeavors.

 

 

West Hill PDS

West Hill Elementary's curriculum is standard-driven, providing children with the essential knowledge so each student can be successful in life.  It embraces the diversity of its students, and offers an ELL class as well.  There is an emphasis on helping children be successful in reading and math, so the teachers use a balanced literacy instruction approach to reading and give students opportunities to engage in several areas of math computations.

Har-Mer PDS

Har-Mer Elementay School is located in Harrisville, PA.  It is proud of its curriculum, which fits the academic standards for the state.  This small school, which has one class for each grade level, focuses on providing its students with as many learning opportunities that it can, as well as opportunities to grow socially, emotionall, and academically.

 

 

Moraine PDS

Moraine Elementary School is located in Prospect, PA.  This is a small town school with a big time emphasis on student-centered learning.  The teachers are dedicated to providing their students with many opportunities to grow both academically and socially.  The teachers hold high expectations for their students to ensure they are living up to their fullest academic potentials.

 

 

Slippery Rock Area PDS

Slippery Rock Area Elementary School is located in Slippery Rock, PA.  It prides itself on student-centered instruction and dedication to the academic and social development of all of its students.  It offers an engaging curriculum that fits the developmental needs of all of its students.
