
Storm Harbor Equestrian Center offers horseback riding lessons and other equine assisted activities to individuals with disabilities and their siblings.

Horseback riding and other equine assisted activities may lead to improvements in:

- posture
- coordination
- flexibility
- confidence
- self-esteem
Storm Harbor Equestrian Center is part of Slippery Rock University, with connections to the adapted physical activity program. Students in the APA program learn about equine assisted activities and participate in riding lessons for individuals with disabilities through the Equine Facilitated Riding course at Storm Harbor.

Storm Harbor Equestrian Center is a member of the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA), the largest organization in the US for equine assisted activities. All instructors at Storm Harbor have passed NARHA certification tests.
