
Kids in Action is an inclusionary after-school physical activity and recreation program for children with autism and related disorders, aged 5-12, and their siblings. Approximately 25-30 children participate during the Fall and Spring semesters.
Kids in Action offers the opportunity for children to:- Gain sport, recreation, and play skills
- Experience aquatics and learn to swim
- Experience horseback riding
- Learn group play skills
- Learn socialization skills
- Increase sensory integration

The program is run and staffed by a graduate student in the MS program and undergraduate students enrolled in APA minor classes. Programming is scheduled for Wednesday evenings from 4:30 to 5:30 pm at East Gym, the East Gym pool, the Sensory Center at the Special Education Annex, and the Storm Harbor Equestrian Center.
