Certification Program for Online Instructors
Program Description
The Certification Program for Online Instructors provides you with the skills and strategies you need to be a successful online instructor. The CPOI is fully online and is comprised of three (3) weeks of sef-paced activites. Each week's activities require approximately 2-3 hours to complete. The CPOI is offered twice a semester - once at the beginning and once at the end. It will also be offered over the summer term. The main topics include:
- Competencies of successful online instructors
- Instructional design for online instructors
- Content development using Blackboard
Through the CPOI, you will have the opportunity to experience online learning as a student, you will learn the iimportance of creating strong learning communcties within your online courses, you will learn and apply strategies for designing quality online courses, and you will learn and demonstrate competency with basic Blackboard tools.
