Auditions

A student wishing to major in dance at Slippery Rock University (incoming freshman, transfer students or currently enrolled students), must participate in an audition class in modern dance and ballet. A meeting with the chairperson or designated faculty member may also occur. Parents are invited to attend this meeting. Admission to the university does not guarantee acceptance to the dance major program. All students auditioning for the Dance Department will be considered for a In-coming Freshman - Transfer Student Scholarship. Appointments must be made in advance by calling (724)738-2036.

Audition Schedule
9:00am meeting with Nora Ambrosio
10:00am meeting with admissions officer
11:00am warm-up on your own
11:15 - 11:55 ballet barre and center
12:00 - 1:30 modern dance class
1:30 - small group or individual meetings with faculty if needed

All out of state students who have a 3.0 or higher grade point average are eligible for a tuition reduction!
