Freshman Student Scholarship
Transfer Student Scholarship
Diversity Scholarship

The Dance Department has two scholarships that are available to freshman and transfer students:
All freshman and transfer students, once they are current and active dance majors at Slippery Rock University, will be candidates for a scholarship. The dance department will give $1000 in scholarship money to an outstanding freshman or transfer student who demonstrates an exceptional work ethic, motivation, professionalism and talent. This money will be applied toward the student's second semester. Only those students who have demonstrated a commitment and dedication to the program will be considered.

Additionally, scholarship money ($500-$1000) is available for minority students, including men, to be used toward the tuition of the freshman year. Prospective students must succesfully complete all phases of the dance audition and have unconditional acceptance by the Admissions Department to Slippery Rock Univeristy. They must demonstrate a passion and commitment for dance as an art form, display a high level of artistic and academic potential, and demonstrate maturity and professionalism. Scholarship students must successfully complete their first semester of study in order to maintain their award for the second semester. If awarded a scholarship, students will be notified by April 30.

Please be advised that Slippery Rock University has many scholarships that prospective dance students may be eligible for. These scholarships must be applied for before December 1. Please see www.sru.edu/pages/4986.asp for more information.
