William Ryan, Ph.D., M.P.H. R.N.

Dr.
Ryan earned a BA in Anthropology from the University of Illinois, BSN
and MSN degrees from St. Louis University, a PhD in Exercise Physiology
from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a MPH in Epidemiology from
the University of Pittsburgh. He
joined the faculty of SRU in the fall of
1995 and is currently an associate professor in the Exercise and
Rehabilitative Science Department. Dr.
Ryan is a registered nurse and holds ACSM certifications as an Exercise
Specialist, Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist, and Exercise
Program Director. Dr. Ryan currently teaches ERS 375 (Exercise Physiology), ERS 475 (Clinical Exercise Physiology), ERS 484 (Exercise Prescription) and FYRST seminar. His research interests have included the development of instruments to assess body image disturbances in men and women. Currently he is researching college student health behaviors, beliefs and attitudes with faculty from the ERS and Psychology departments at SRU.
