M ichael Zieg, assistant professor of geography, geology and the environment at Slippery Rock University, returned from a three-week research expedition in Antarctica with a group from Johns Hopkins University and the University of Minnesota-Duluth in January of 2008 to conduct NSF-funded research on the formation of the Jurassic Ferrar Dolerite sills, which were intruded during the breakup of Gondwana.
