Teacher Certification in Earth and Space Science

Teacher certification in Earth and Space Science is available to those who seek to teach earth and space science at the grade levels 7-12. This certification is obtained through a Master of Education degree at Slippery Rock University. The student must complete an undergraduate B.A. or B.S. degree in the discipline in order to qualify for the program. Specific courses in geology, astronomy, meteorology, oceanography, and chemistry are available to students who want this career track. The Department will provide special advisement to students who wish to pursue this career goal.

Prior to applying for graduate school in education, prospective students must contact the Department of Secondary Education/Foundation of Education concerning its graduate program in education.
