Dr. David Dixon
Professor of History

It is with enormous sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. David D. Dixon, our beloved friend and colleague, who died July 16, 2008.

On July 21 hundreds of David's loved ones--family,  friends, colleagues, and students--lovingly accompanied his remains to West Liberty Cemetery.  There he was laid to rest in a beautiful spot on a lovely hill among Civil War veterans and within sight of the SRU campus.

For more information see Dr. Dixon's obituary in the Butler Eagle.

Here is a tribute to Dr. Dixon where you can offer condolence to family and friends.

A scholarship is being established at Slippery Rock University to honor Dr. Dixon's life and his legacy.  More information regarding this scholarship--and how to contribute to it--will be posted here as it becomes available.
