Mailbox Cleanup Procedures
Internet Explorer
- Delete items from your inbox that are large in size or old items.
- Sort your inbox by email size and delete large emails.
- Any items you've deleted from your inbox or other folders sits in your "Deleted Items" folder.
- Click on "Deleted Items" on the left side.
- Make sure "Messages" is selected beside "Deleted"Items" at the top of the page:

- Click on the trashbin icon
which should say 
- That should have deleted ALL items from the trash, which often frees up a gracious amount of space.
- Delete Junk E-mail.
- Click on "Junk E-mail" on the left side.
- Make sure "Messages" is selected beside "Junk E-mail" at the top of the page:

- Click on the trashbin icon
which should say 
- Delete Sent Items
- Click on "Sent Items" on the left side.
- Make sure "Messages" is selected beside "Sent Items" at the top of the page:

- Sort emails by size - Click on the column that says "Size."
- Delete these emails; especially ones that are over 100KB.
- Delete Drafts
- Click on "Drafts" on the left side
- Make sure "Messages" is selected beside "Drafts" at the top of the page:

- Delete these emails
- Recover accidentally deleted items - If you've accidentally deleted an email that you shouldn't have,
you can recover those items.
- Click on "Options" on the left side.
- Scroll down to the bottom where it says "Recover Deleted Items" - Click "View Items."
- A window should have popped up with the title "Recover Deleted Items = Webpage Dialog."
- From this window, you can select the emails you wish to recover. Any emails you recover are
moved to your "Deleted Items" folder.
