A subject directory is a listing of Internet resources by subject, where sites are classified for you.

  is an example of a subject directory that also includes a search engine.  Bailey Library's Resources by Subject and The Librarian's Index to the Internet are examples of classified lists or subject directories.  A list of hyperlinks is included under each topic.
