Cameras & Equipment
(click link above to see itemized listing)
Video and still cameras, tripods, and audio equipment now circulate from the laptop room in the basement of the library. Items are usually three day loans with a $3/day fine for over dues. Extended loans may be made. Items can be renewed up to three times either on the library web page ("renew books online") or by calling ext. 2865 or in person at the library. An equipment agreement form must be signed and a valid SRU I.D. must be presented. If equipment is being returned and the laptop room is closed, please stop by the Main Circulation desk on the first floor for assistance. Cameras and equipment circulate to current students, faculty and staff only.
Hours for the laptop/equipment area during the semester are:
Sunday 1pm - 10:30pm
Monday through Thursday 9am-10:30pm
Friday 9am-4:30pm
CLOSED ON SATURDAYS
Laptops need to be returned 15 minutes before closing.
Hours during Summer & Breaks: The laptop room is closed over Summer and during Breaks, but equipment can be accessed by asking at the Main Circulation Desk.
Wireless Laptop Circulation
Laptop computers are available for checkout from the laptop circulation desk in the library basement. Laptops are checked out on a first-come, first-served basis and are available for use with the Library wireless network only. Laptops may not be reserved. LAPTOPS MAY NOT BE TAKEN FROM THE BUILDING. (*If taken from building or not returned before the laptop room closes, the patron will be charged a $25 fee and be blocked from using laptops for the remainder of the semester.) Laptops circulate for a period of three hours and stop circulating one hour before closing.
To borrow a laptop, you must use your own VALID SRU ID and must read and sign the Laptop Borrowers Agreement form. If the borrower has outstanding library fines or charges that prevent them from checking out other library materials, they will not be allowed to checkout laptops. Your I.D. will be held until the laptop is returned.
User files should not be saved to laptops and the library assumes no responsibility for files left on laptops. Users are not able to install applications on the laptops. Users may print to a networked printer in the laptop circulation area.
Users are responsible for loss, theft, or damage to laptops and accessories. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR LAPTOP UNATTENDED. In case of a library evacuation, keep the laptop with you. Users will be assessed replacement and/or repair charges as deemed appropriate by the library.
Patrons may use their own laptops with the library wireless, but printing is not available.
Bailey Library Computer Lab
The Library computer lab is located on the third floor and houses 10 networked PC's for use by SRU students, faculty and staff only. Users must have a SRU network account. The lab is staffed by a student assistant and open all regular library hours, closing 15 minutes prior to building closing. Work directly related to an academic assignment has priority over recreational use. Users are not permitted to use their own paper in printers and are limited to two copies of any document. Transparencies cannot be printed.
