Guidelines and Tips for Presentations and Posters
Every university graduate should understand that no idea is fully formed until it can be communicated, and that the organization required for writing and speaking is part of the thought process that enables one to understand material fully (Boyer Commission 1998).

Speaking about Your Work
Regardless of the nature of your work, being able to talk with others and illuminate your knowledge and experience clearly is a central dimension of the research and creative process. Whether you will be delivering a more formal presentation of your research, developing the content of your poster presentation, answering questions or describing the central message of your performance, the ability to relate this material concisely in ways that others can grasp is a central aspect of the research and creative process. In the process of grappling with how to articulate the core dimensions of your work to an audience, you come to understand it yourself more completely.
How to Participate
If your work has been accepted for the 2010 Symposium for Student Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity consider attending a workshop to help you learn how to better communicate the essential elements of your research and creative experience.
