 Journals:

Current print journals in Bailey Library are housed on the first floor; back issues are either on microform on the first floor or on the third floor in the bound journals collection.  To find whether the library holds a particular journal title, conduct a Journal Title search in the library catalog.

Many of Bailey Library’s journals are electronic; most are accessed via online databases.  Databases are available from the Databases A-Z link on the library’s home page.  Those that may be of use in environmental research include:

Academic Search Complete   --indexes scholarly journals on a variety of topics, including the environment

Academic Universe   --provides access to Supreme Court cases, federal and state case law, and federal regulations as well as indexing for journals and law reviews

Applied Science and Technology Abstracts  --provides indexing and abstracts (summaries) for journal articles in the sciences

Academic OneFile --provides indexing and full-text for a variety of news and journal articles

Web Sites:

The federal government provides access to a wealth of information online.  Start with GPO Access , which provides direct access to the Federal Register, the Code of Federal Regulations, federal laws (U.S. Code), and Supreme Court Decisions (1937-1975 and 1992 onward).  From its “Finding Aids” link, choose Browse Topics to find a list of potentially helpful federal web sites listed by subject.

The EPA’s homepage is also invaluable.  Check its link to “Laws, Regulations, and Dockets” or browse its “Newsroom.”

Cornell University’s Law School has a very helpful site dedicated to environmental law at http://topics.law.cornell.edu/wex/Environmental_law
