James Berry, Assistant Professor of Music, holds degrees from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in music and education and Duquesne University in conducting performance. He has been on the faculty at SRU for ten years. At Slippery Rock, Mr. Berry conducts the University Concert Band and directs the "Rock" Marching Pride. He also teaches several courses within the music education program.
Berry is active as an adjudicator and clinician and has made numerous appearances as a guest conductor for honors bands throughout the state. He is a freelance drill designer and has served as an consultant for area high school marching bands. Mr. Berry's professional affiliations include Pennsylvania Music Educators Association and Phi Beta Mu International Bandmasters fraternity.
