The SRU Chamber Singers, directed by Stephen Barr, is a smaller choral group consisting of between fourteen and twenty excellent singers. This ensemble performs all types of music with typically a greater emphasis on a capella music. This ensemble has performed on and off-campus in a madrigal dinner and holiday dinner format. This select group has been highlighted at various events, a memorable one being at the White House in 2001.
The SRU Concert Choir, directed by Stephen Barr, consists of approximately 50 music and non-music majors who share a love for singing and being a part of an excellent choral group. This ensemble performs all types of music, from the Renaissance to 21st century, from classical to jazz, and from "a cappella" to full orchestral accompaniment. This group performs various concerts each semester and goes on a tour every spring.
