PREE 110 Foundations of Parks and Recreation
The historical and philosophical background of the leisure movement, recreation organizations and professional development. (3 credits)
PREE 120 Inclusive Leisure Services
Offers information and activities designed to develop an awareness of people with disabilities, and how attitudes can be enhanced and influenced in regards to people with disabilities. (3 credits)
PREE 160 Introduction to Environmental Education
This course will focus on an introduction to the fields of environmental education. Historical antecedents will be discussed, including nature education, outdoor education , and conservation education. Philosophies and methodologies appropriate for a basic understanding of environmental education will be examined. (3 credits)
PREE 170 Fundamentals of Parks Resource Management
This course orients the student to the park and resource management major, develops a sense of history and philosophy regarding outdoor recreation, provides a knowledge of outdoor recreation providers and develops basic knowledge and skills in resource measurement and records. (3 credits)
