Joe Kolodski Memorial Scholarship

Criteria for consideration includes the following:
1. Parks and Resource Management Major
2. Minimum of 60 credit hours
3. Minimum of 3.00 QPA within the major courses at the time he/she applies for the scholarship
4. Involvement within PREE department
5. Experience with public and visitor services
6. Experience within the Park and Resource Management field

Award: One or two $200-$250 awards will be given each year

Application: Write a 1-2 page essay addressing the following:

Public service is an essential component of Park and Resource Management.

Please describe your philosophy of service and how your philosophy will contribute to the service mission of a Resource Management agency.

Also include a short paragraph explaining what you have done, both on campus and off, to gain experience in:

• PREE department
• Public and visitor services
• Park and Resource Management field

Application is by letter to: Bruce G. Boliver, Chairperson, PREE Department. Letter of application highlighting their qualifications as a Joe Kolodski Scholar and an essay (no more than three pages) expressing how their education and experiences at SRU are preparing them to achieve their career goals. Deadline for application is Tuesday, February 26, 2008.
