PEARL K. STONER SCHOLARSHIP
Through the generosity of a gift from the estate of Pearl K. Stoner, the Pearl K. Stoner Scholarship was established within the Slippery Rock Foundation, Inc.; for the purpose of providing financial assistance for graduate students pursuing the Master’s of Science Degree in Sustainable Systems at Slippery Rock University.

The Pearl K. Stoner Scholarship shall be available to prospective students, and students enrolled within the Master’s of Science Degree in Sustainable Systems at Slippery Rock University.

The amount of the annual scholarship(s) shall be $8,000 (2008-09).

Criteria:
1) Scholarship(s) awarded to graduate student(s) or prospective graduate student(s) (who have
been accepted by the University and have made a commitment to attend) pursuing the
Master’s of Science Degree in Sustainable Systems

2) All Slippery Rock students/prospective Slippery Rock students qualifying under (1) above
and showing both need and scholastic achievement may be considered for the scholarship(s)

3) The scholarship(s) may be granted annually to the same student provided he/she has
maintained a satisfying academic record and continues toward a master’s degree in a field
of study as specified in (1) above.

4) The scholarship(s) award for the 2008-2009 will total $8,000.00

5) Deadline for submitting an application will be on or about March 1st of each year. Announcement or recipient should be made around March 15th

6) You may not accept a graduate assistantship during the semester(s) you are awarded this
scholarship

7) Applicant(s) must show exceptional promise to advance themselves professionally

1) Letter of application
2) Copy of a resume/vita
3) Copy of a current university transcript or undergraduate transcript
4) GRE/MAT scores
5) A writing sample: Addressing how this scholarship will change your future.
6) Provide three letters of reference

Deadline: Monday, March 3, 2008– for 2008-09 scholarship
