PROGRAMS OF STUDY and COURSES-

The Park Ranger Training Program is based on an academically-integrated model. This model provides students with a total of 15 credit hours to be taken in two consecutive semesters. In order to gain certification, students must complete all of the following courses with a grade of B or higher:

PREE 271 Law Enforcement/Firearms (3 credit hours)
PREE 371 Federal Law Enforcement (3 credit hours)
PREE 374 Federal Law and Policy (3 credit hours)
PREE 471 NPS Law Enforcement (3 credit hours)
PREE 472 Park Law Enforcement (3 credit hours)

 

 

The Park Ranger Training Program is offered every academic year and is open to only those students majoring in Parks and Recreation at SRU at either the undergraduate or graduate level. The 2008-2009 program is offered from August 25, 2008 - May 12, 2009.
