Curriculum
Students take a series of
five three-hour courses (15 total credit hours) over two
consecutive semesters. The program is based on an integrated
academic model which allows students to pursue other courses
for their degree program while in ranger training. The 325-hour
curriculum is certified by the National Park Service and
the US Fish and Wildlife Service.

Requirements
Several
requirements must be met before students are permitted entry
into SRU's Park Ranger Training Program. The program is
open to all Park and Resource Management students at Slippery
Rock University. In addition to the SRU requirements, there

Careers
There has never been a better
time to start a career in this field. For most agencies,
the pay has increased significantly over the last ten years.
Coupled with the advanced pay, many land management agencies
are experiencing, or expect to experience, significant retirements
in the next 2-6 years. This means that students coming in
have an excellent opportunity to get a super job with good
pay.
