There is $100 workshop fee that covers all housing, meals, classroom materials, and supplemental materials. The workshop is supported by the Pittsburgh chapter of Safari Club International.
Act 48 of 1999 requires persons holding PA professional
educator certification to complete continuing education requirements
(6 college credits, 6 credits of continuing professional education
courses, 180 hours of continuing professional education, or any
combination of these options) every five years in order to maintain
their certificates. This is applicable to all educators, regardless
of employment status, holding PA public certification including,
Instructional I and II, Educational Specialist I and II, Administrative,
Supervisory, Vocational, and/or Letters of Eligibility.
The Wild Resource Education Workshop is an opportunity for Pennsylvania
teachers to get Act 48, Intermediate Unit, or Slippery Rock Graduate
Credit. Each type of credit has different fees and requirements.

Slippery Rock University Graduate Credit
Three graduate credits are available for this course. Currently,
SRU charges $336 per credit hour for a total of $1,008 for
the workshop. The tuition is in addition to the workshop registration
fee. There are no additional university fees for this workshop.
If you are already a SRU student, you need to fill out the Graduate
Registration Form. You cannot register for this workshop
through RockTALK.
If you are not an SRU student, you need to either complete an application
for Graduate
Admissions or a Special Non Degree Application
Act 48
WREW is eligible for 45 hours of Act 48 credit. There is
an additional fee of $5.00 so that students may receive their
ACT 48 credit.
Intermediate Unit
Participants are eligible for 90 hours of Intermediate Unit
credit. The fee is $40 for credit and all of the forms will
be handled by SRU. Completion of final assignment is required
for this type of credit.
