Accounting Department Scholarship

 

The Accounting Department Scholarship Program has been established with donations from its alumni, faculty, and friends.  Awards shall be granted annually.  The award is intended to recognize excellence in academic performance as well as evidence of academic need.

Criteria

Accounting majors with a minimum of 64 credits, including completion of Intermediate Accounting Good academic standing and a minimum Q. P. A. of 3.0

Application Requirements

  1. Typed letter indicating an interest in the scholarship.
  2. Paragraph on your professional plans.
  3. Resume.
  4. Send to:

5 .  Applications must be received by March 15, with awards granted for the
     following academic year.

Selection

A committee consisting of the two elected members of the accounting faculty will make the selection.  If necessary, the Selection Committee shall request personal interviews of candidates determined to be finalists for the award.

No distinction shall be made on the basis of race, color, sex, or creed.

The scholarship grant will be $1,000 per recipient, and initially, a maximum of three grants will be authorized per year.  The Selection Committee will meet annually to review the criteria and the fiscal status of the account.

After selection of the winners, payment shall be made directly from the Slippery Rock Foundation, Inc. to Slippery Rock University in the name of the recipients.
