The Philip J. Kennedy Scholarship has been established through the generosity of two alumni, Bill Tolia, and Peter Mercatili. The award is granted to encourage accounting as a major and, in particular, to reward those students who best promote camaraderie and demonstrate leadership within the department.
Application Information
Submissions must be received by March 15, with awards granted for the following academic year.
SELECTION
A committee consisting of Peter Mercatili, Bill Tolia, and Philip Kennedy will make the selection. If necessary, the Selection Committee shall request personal interviews of candidates determined to be finalists for the award.
No distinction shall be made on the basis of race, color, sex, or creed.
The scholarship grant will be $1,000 per recipient. The Selection Committee will meet annually to review the criteria and the fiscal status of the account.
After selection of the winners, payment shall be made directly from the Slippery Rock Foundation, Inc. to Slippery Rock University in the name of the recipients.
