The Harry M. Warner Film
Institute at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania is please to
announce the Second Annual Harry M. Warner
Festival of Short Film and Video. The festival will
take place April 20-21, 2006 on the Slippery Rock University campus and at the
Scottish Rite Cathedral in New Castle, PA. Accepted works will
have the opportunity to be considered for worldwide distribution through
Stephen Simon's distribution company at http://www.thespiritualcinemacircle.com/

Form
By seeking submissions for
this festival, the Harry M. Warner Film Institute is striving to connect
the traditions of film with the medium's continuing evolution. The
festival seeks to represent the myriad of artistic visions and methods
of production employed by time-based artists and filmmakers.
All
genres will be considered for exhibition.
All
films must be under 25 minutes long,
and produced within the last three
calendar years. Films/videos must be submitted in NTSC
format or VHS or MiniDV
(not to be confused with DVD). For the 2006 festival, our early
deadline for submissions is January 1, 2006, with an entry fee of $15.
The final deadline for submissions is February 1, 2006, with an entry
fee of $35. It is undetermined at this time when the
deadlines are for the festival of 2007, however, you may submit films as
early as you would like.
Our renowned judges
will determine the top three cash awards ($1,500
first prize, $1,000 second prize, $750 third prize) plus
honorable mentions. Our judges this year are Kennneth Heusey,
Thomas John, and Cass Warner, granddaughter of Harry M. Warner. Cass
Warner of Warner Sister Productions will also be available
once more to autograph her biography entitled Hollywood
Be Thy Name.

limit to 100 words max)

return of submission materials (works submitted without SASE will not be
able to be returned).
*Please mark all submission materials with
artist/producer’s name and the
title of work. Do not submit work in
fiber-filled envelopes.

include a variety of events, such as celebrity book-signing / interviews
/ discussion, Keystone Film Award Dinner, Movie Munchies (casual
